Can't believe no one has posted about the INSANE two night run at the Indy. For my money, Friday was a very good show, Saturday was incredible, probably the best Biscuits show I've seen.
Unbelievable energy in there both nights. Both very sold out, but they did a good job not overpacking the place, plenty of room to maneuver, adequate dance-floor space.
Friday -- Spaga>Handcuffs>Spaga was monumental, the Magellan was relentless....the Echoes was a real mind-f*ck, although I was very much in the upbeat dancin' mood, so it slowed things down a bit, but once I gave into it and appreciated the majesty of it, I was blown away.
Saturday -- straight outta the gate with the Triumph opener, sickly dropping into just the middle of Jigsaw Earth......then a big House Dog had the whole place out of their minds again......2nd set was all pro, starting with the rockin singalong of Lithium.....somewhere in the Crickets that came out of MEMPHIS, it was already one for the books....and then it kept going for another 1/2 hour or more, through a great inverted Buddha>Abyss.....I remember hitting the bathroom during the break and people were just laughing at how ridiculous it was.......couldn't have asked for more out of the encore, Plan B (which I love) into a tasty ambient jam for a few minutes, then dropping into Safety Dance, one last singalong and off into the night
Also props to Falcor on the late nights at 12 G's, on Friday saw the whole Moonshine Still set (ripping), with Allen sitting in for much of it......and then Saturday with the New Mastersounds raging it until 4:45
great weekend.....Biscuits, y'all come back now, hear?
ted :)

Re: 2 nights at the Indy
Wed, December 13, 2006 - 2:02 PMThe Roxy shows were so hot! I can't even phatom how anyone could say that a biscuits set got boring! WOW! Highlights in LA included a sick sick COnfrontation night one and a sick even sicker Catipilers 2nd set opener. Also a wonderful Story of The World Encore. Night two was on fire, Home Again, Spacebird, Astronaught, Spy, Frog Legs, there was no bordem at all at the Roxy!!!!!!!! Maybe a bit of confusion, and astonishment even amazement!!!! -

Re: 2 nights at the Indy
Wed, December 13, 2006 - 3:50 PMno. it was definitely boredom in the first set. there were good moments, but i felt like we all moved to the noodle factory at times as well. they weren't going anywhere or doing much with the jams at that point. but, second set was FIYAH.

Fri, December 15, 2006 - 8:29 AMYou didn't mention probably the jam of the weekend, Spraypaint> Cyclone> Spraypaint.
I thought the Magellan was incredibly weak but hey, they can't all be home runs.
Great music, great venue, great city and all-around great times. -

Fri, December 15, 2006 - 2:21 PMthat's funny, classic your-mileage-may-vary.....for whatever reason the SprayClone didn't jump out at me.....remember digging it, but not seared on my brain.....on the other hand I *loved* the Magellan -
